This is a replacement gear for the Odin M12 Speedloader used in Airsoft. I noticed mine was wearing out and haven't been able to find any in stock so.... made my own.
I'm a little biased, but I think it's an improvement on the original. This gear feels almost exactly the same when filling a mag, and the thicker curved teeth should reduce the amount of wear. It also still loads 2 bbs per tooth as well as the original.
The base of the plate is slightly higher to align better with the interior channel, outside diameter is slightly increased, the teeth are slightly taller and significantly thicker, and as mentioned the outside of the teeth is now rounded which should provide a smoother transition between teeth.
I prototyped in PLA and found that after 5 mags, there was slight rounding on the outside edge of the tooth similar to the original. I will update once I have more extensive testing.
I would recommend printing in a tougher material. I would think that PETG, ABS, or some
