Omniwheels are omnidirectional wheels equipped with rollers positioned perpendicular to the wheel’s rotation axis. This arrangement allows a robot to move not only forward and backward but also sideways, and to combine these motions for smooth diagonal movements, without changing its orientation. When used in the right configuration, they enable precise control of movement in multiple directions, making them ideal for agile mobile robots in indoor environments. These wheels are designed for use with NEMA 17 motors. They are approximately 72 mm in diameter. On one side, there is a slot for locking in a flange, which can be rigidly connected to the motor shaft. On the opposite side, a bearing can be inserted, where a rivet rotates, passing through an element called the “Aligner.” A self-locking washer is placed between the wheel and the Aligner, ensuring a stable, play-free connection. For assembling the rollers, you’ll need M3 screws approximately 40 mm long (to be cut to size) along wi
