A remix of the excellent Easy Table Braces by berky93 -- I put together a long desk with two Ikea Linnmon table tops and some hairpin legs but I didn't want a leg in the front center so I put a standard square table leg from home depot (1.65 x 1.65 x 28 in) on the back middle but where they joined in the front was too wobbly.
Modified this so that the top bracket only has one side and has 4 drill holes so I could secure it into both table tops, then modified the leg bracket so that it also has drill holes since I wasn't confident in the zip ties the original uses.
I used 8x wood screws, they look like #8 x 1/2 inch but were in an unlabeled baggy I had laying around, anything similar should work well.
Also used 13 inch long 1/2 inch pvc -- It should support the far side better if you go a bit longer but you want to make sure it's not so long that it gets in the way -- I would've gone a bit longer, maybe 15 inches, but I happened to have a piece cut to that length already.
