Onion Grower

Indoor onion growing at its simplest. An 18 oz clear plastic cup can grow 10 at a time. place base of onions in pods, fill the cup with water, place by window sill. Takes about 7 days to be able to harvest again and again. We change the water out whenever it starts to look nasty (~every week or so). There were plenty of other onion growing lids online, but most were with jars or more permanent structures. After a while, your containers can get nasty if you only change the water once a week, so after refilling the cups a few times, I'll typically just throw the cups away. The hefty clear cups are found at costco and we carry these in our pantry all the time for whenever we throw a party. They loosely fit this cup perfectly. My original designs snapped on the brim of the cup, but the wife complained that they were too hard to remove from the cup when there are onions growing up top.
