A quick background dome I printed for my openscan mini (https://en.openscan.eu/openscan-mini) to make background removal easier. I was inspired by a post by u/Krynn71 on reddit/r/openscan .

I printed in green pla as it is easy to key and remove so is commonly used as a background. I plan on also experimenting with white.

I advise that the platform for your scanned object is printed in the same color as the dome, so that it blends in.

I may further revise the dome to improve how it is attached to the openscan mini. This design currently it sits on the platform, with a small lip to catch the edge. I also secure mine with two pieces of double stick tape. There are also small aestetic things I would like to fix, but it is functional as is.

The dome requires support at this time.
