[This is an identical relisting of thing #4836436 which will not show up in my own list of designs. Thingiverse is getting worse all the time.]
This Thing is a spinning-top toy that pressure fits in the center of CD/DVD/BluRay disks.
The two versions are the regular top with a printed pointed tip, and the rugged version with a BB in the tip. After some play time by the kids, the printed pointed PLA tip became dull, so the rugged version pressure fits a BB (ammunition for a BB gun) in the tip. The kids haven't managed to flatten the metal yet. If your kid can't be trusted with a BB, don't print the BB version.
No glue should be necessary, but you can use it if it makes you feel better. You may have to adjust your scale for the shrinkage of different filament types. This design should work as downloaded for PLA. A little contact cement between the top of the print and the optical media will help with the transfer of momentum when spinning.
The denser your printed top the bett
