YOU MUST ADD A SOLAR FILTER (links below). Do not look at the sun unless you are absolutely sure of the material you use. Use at your own risk.
BE SAFE!
This is a simple ring that fits onto an Orion 6" Dobsonian telescope, in place of the dust cover. You must add a solar filter by cutting one out of visual rated (5.0) material, and sandwiching it between the ring and the frame. The ring should fit TIGHT due to a slight interference fit.
Recommended Filters:
1. Baader Planetarium AstroSolar Safety Film (5.0).
Do not get anything below 5.0, such as the 3.6 which is only intended for photography.
Great optics. A bit pricey and delicate. White(natural) image.
2. Thousand Oaks Solar Film
Mediocre optics. Cheap and durable. Yellowish image.
