Ornithopter (work in progress)

This is the mechanical structure of my Ornithopter. The gear assembly is pushing the bounds of 3D Printing. I ended up resin printing some parts & filament printing others for a combination of strength & precision - but it was still only just strong enough. Needs a bit of playing with! Maybe changing the helical gear profile to straight cut? The ornithopter itself flew about 50m - but I was so shocked when it flew, I panicked & crashed it into the shed! Note to self - next time don't fly it in the garden.
