This is an attempt to give a bit of frost protection to my outside tap. I've only just fitted it so I can't make any claims other than it is hopefully better than nothing. We turn off the water to the tap and open it just in case when the temperature drops below freezing, but I wanted to avoid any residual water freezing inside it.
The unit is 10mm thick and the slot fits nicely onto the back of my tap. I've included a couple of different breakout sizes in case you need more clearance at the bottom for the pipe feeding the tap.
I used PLA filament, but it would probably work well with TPU.
There's probably enough clearance to put some insulation inside if you want to try that. I printed it with 5% infill and no supports without any problems, although it took 17 hours on my printer.
