This is a mold for the Oxy 2 helicopter canopy. You will need to know how to do fiberglass layups in order to use this!

Printing:

Mold is printed in PLA, using "fine" setting. The nicer your print is, the less time you'll spend post-processing. If you print it nose-down (as in the photo) no supports are required.

Print canopy grommets in TPU.

Post processing: Use sandpaper and a sandable filler-primer to smooth the inside to your satisfaction. Prep as you would any other mold with wax / PVA.

Layup: 1 layer of 1.5 oz fiberglass in the mold, followed by one layer of 5.8 oz fiberglass. Epoxy resin.

Prototype canopy weighs 20g bare, 23g with vinyl decorations and TPU canopy grommets. Grommets are attached to canopy by snapping onto the heli's canopy posts, then applying CA and pushing canopy in place against them.
