P.E.T. filament maker

At just thirteen, my friend and I designed and 3D‑modeled our own plastic‑recycling setup, complete with a custom bottle‑cutter and a filament‑spooler powered by a repurposed car‑window motor. We built everything from scratch — the angled cutter that slices bottles into perfect strips, the motorized spooler that winds them smoothly, and all the printed parts that hold the system together. Turning trash into real 3D‑printing filament blew people’s minds, and it helped us win our school science fair and move on to regionals.
