I often have to drive around with 2-10m lengths of cable in my van and I wanted something more reusable than duct tape and zip-ties and more convenient than string.
Take a piece of paracord, fold it in half and thread the ends of it through the cable wraps. Tie a good knot on each end so that they won't pull through, and you're ready to go.
