This is a general purpose grommet, but it was inspired by the various firewall grommets encountered in automotive applications. More specifically those encountered with old British sports car firewalls. You can also make a hole plug with this as well.
Some British cars would have a control cable running through the grommet. I've added the feature to add a supporting central boss for these types of cases
