This is a parametric ring for telescope tubes.
My goal was to fix an Orion Newtonian 203/1000 on an equatorial mount.
The mount has a dovetail attached on it, but the tube went without any fixture, so I designed one using OpenScad.
As it was not a hassle to make it parametrable, I did it so that you can make rings for any size of telescope tube (with reasonable limits ;o).
As I have a 3D printer with a 200x200mm bed, I couldn't print such a big ring for my 203/1000, having an outer diameter of about 238mm...
So I made the ring by segments. You can make the ring with 1,2,3...pieces
When it comes to print parts, select each part by setting part_to_show = 1 and export, then 2, etc.
To adapt the ring onto a mount, I have made two fixture interfaces: one for the dovetail that came with the CG5 mount, and one for a SvBony dovetail I bought on the bay (ref. in the scad file.)
Edit: 2026: some corrections made, and part_to_show = 0 (show all) now works good
Note: WARNNGS about halign and vali
