Here is my attempt at a simple parametric tool holder designer. It will produce .STL files for a shelf-style tool holder that can be screwed into a surface. You can vary many of the parameters including:
- Number of holes
- Hole separation
- Hole diameter
You can specify if you want "slot holes" so that tools with thinner bodies than the head can be inserted horizontally. It also gives you the option for an extra middle support if there is chance of bending (heavy tools, long shelf dimension, for example).
You can change the .STL render resolution by uncommenting the lines at ~ line 37, the "medium" setting works well for me.
---
Disclaimer: I'm not great at openSCAD. I needed a bunch of various sized tool holders for my workshop, and I thought it would be a good excuse to learn a bit more about openSCAD and parametric design rather than slogging through each one in Fusion
