I needed optical digital outs from a stupid PC I had lying around, so I went to install a SoundBlaster AE-5 PCIe ×1 sound card on the motherboard. The only one available was directly next to the ×16 slot and hidden beneath the GPU. I got around port access with a riser cable, but there was nowhere inside the computer that could mount it.
I couldn't find a completely suitable mounting option among the many excellent designs people have shared on here, but the closest was 'GPU Desk Mount v2' by Common_Computus. I modified it for a single slot card and enlarged the retention hole at the base. Finally, I removed some supports that interferred with the riser card to arrive at the attached remix.
I have used velcro cable ties to secure it to the case, which is open anyway due to the massive Noctua NH-D15 (silent but somewhat of a beast!)
Works perfectly!
