I designed this because, like many other model railway enthusiasts, I found myself stuck with many already laid and working points that I wanted to power, but could not get underneath them to drill a hole, or position a motor correctly
I have chosen to use servos and an arduino for my point control, so to overcome this I designed this adaptor that easily fits over the lttle "stick up" bar on the end of a Peco point tie rod and also allows connection of 1mm piano wire securely into the outer end. As can be seen , it is pretty unconspicuous once in place, and if painted black of maybe grey, looks like a genuie piece of railway equipment.
This means you can locate the point motor almost anywhere else you want ( on top ofr under your baseboard) and use piano wire, usually inside a piece of 1.5mm inside diameter flexible tubing.that will guide it securely.
