This is a mini version of a Peppers Ghost Illusion. When you look through the door you see an empty corridor. By lifting the small door in the lid you can see the corridor appears empty. That is until you lift the second door when a ghostly figure appears in the room. A classic of theatres, theme parks and haunted houses this illusion is created using a simple scientific principle first discovered in the Victorian Era. To make this work you will need one Mini-Figure and a sheet of 2mm thick Perspex 8x9cm. Place the figure on the studs in the side corridor and insert the Perspex into the slot. When the lid is put on with the smaller doors inside the box will appear dark. When you lift the door above the figure a “ghost” will appear in the perspex. You can shine a light from above to make the ghostly figure brighter. To make this trick work the best a dark filament should be used - I used a Matt Black PLA. To make it stand out more you can create a scene behind the perspex so it looks like a room/corridor. Avoid using too much white or bright colours in this area as you may lose the ghostly effect. The illusion will also work without the lid on top however you would not be able to control when you see the ghost.
