The sandstone buildings carved into rock faces in Petra, Jordan consisted of temples and places of worship, and tombs and resting sites. The site has now become one of the 7 Wonders of the World. They were created from the middle of the 1st century BC to 129AD and there are over 600 facades that have been found.
