Phenanthrene is a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon with the formula C₁₄H₁₀, an isomer of anthracene, consisting of three fused benzene rings in an angular arrangement. It appears as a colorless, crystal-like solid and is found in coal tar. Like many PAHs, it is formed from the incomplete combustion of organic materials and can be found in sources like vehicle exhaust and cigarette smoke. Phenanthrene is primarily used in research and as a starting material for the synthesis of dyes, plastics, pesticides, explosives, and some drugs. It has also been used to create bile acids, cholesterol, and steroids. Some of its derivatives are found naturally in certain plants, like orchids. Explore searchable catalogue of hundreds of molecules, including details on how models were generated. NotesIf you happen to break something, use superglue to fix it. It will make the broken part even stronger.I decided to go with the ball-and-stick type, as it is easiest to color, is rigid, and looks awesome. The
