I made a remake of an old sketchup model I made a couple of years ago. Contains the whole sword or as parts to glue together with a aluminium/brass/steel rod in the middle.
The hole size in the middle is 5.3mm so that a 5mm rod will probably fit perfectly. if loose, add more 2k glue.
The whole length of the rod is 700mm so you probably need to buy two 500mm rods and cut the other one. They can be found on Ebay for pretty cheap.
