I unfortunately managed to crack my Pinecil shell body by awkwardly catching the barrel jack power lead. A replacement shell is only US$6, plus postage and GST, the price quickly adds up. Surely someone has made available a 3D printable shell, I thought. To my disappointment, no 3D could be found. So, I decided to design my own. I did depart from the original's (too) slim dimensions to a size that feels better in my hand. The new body is 104mm long and fits into a 25mm diameter iron stand. To note, my shell fits both V1 and V2 Pinecil soldering iron releases. I replaced the 2mm external screws at the shell tip with 3mm screws. To give the shell a finish, I matched those screws with 3mm brass inserts. From my testing, I feared that where the shell body interfaces with the iron tip would be reasonably hot. Instead, I found the working temperature to be quite moderate at less than 50C. Something to keep in mind when choosing a filament to print with. My print is made in Prusament Poly
