The “Plastically Possible” trophy was designed as a symbol of environmental resilience within the Tonlé Sap fishing villages of Cambodia. Inspired by the growing issue of plastic pollution in the lake ecosystem, the piece transforms discarded waste into a visual story of regeneration and hope.
The base of the trophy is built from sculpted plastic bottles, fishing netting, broken debris, and a boat propeller — materials commonly found polluting waterways and village edges around Tonlé Sap. These elements represent both the dependence of floating communities on the lake and the environmental challenges caused by unmanaged waste.
Emerging from the waste is a twisting tree structure inspired by mangrove roots and jungle vines, symbolising nature reclaiming and healing damaged environments. The flowing organic forms contrast against the sharp industrial waste below, creating a balance between destruction and renewal.
