I made this model as a basis to go and play with programming ESP32, Arduino and Raspberry PI microprocessors using the individually addressable WS2812B LED strips. But it can also be directly animated using the USB device that comes with these strips, without the need for any microprocessors. The model was created Fusion 360 by lofting rectangles to triangles - the idea being the creation of a six-fold symmetry using horizontal strips. This model is originally based on ideas from using individually addressable LED strips for making a word clock. LED strips can be found for instance on TEMU and AliExpress and Amazon. Make sure the LED dimensions are 60 LEDs/meter (these are the most common ones). Requires AMS. Use white and/or transparent filament for the triangles, some matte or non-transparent filament for the rest. Enjoy … and share !!!
