This is a conceptual placeholder for an adjustable polarizer mount for a home-made ellipsometer apparatus I am working on right now. It is intended for rotate-able polarizers that normally go into optical microscopes. I did not put threads into the main aperture since I think (when I finally get my printer) I will be able to press fit the metal rim into the softer ABS plastic material. I will update as I learn the real-world lessons on this.
Update:
I added two manually rotatate-able inserts. Print at your own risk since this is still just a proof-of-concept design. I will not know if any of this will work until I get my new printer and do some measurements with a pair of calipers.
** Update 06/11/13 **
I had to modify the polarizer mount radius to fit the microscope-based polarizers I purchased (version 3). It appears that the bolt holes (and set-screw holes for the laser module) fit well for standard M3-0.5 socket cap screws. Curently working of AOI arm design and p
