POM Scavenger Spool Rollers

I wanted to make a set of spool rollers that could use scavenged bearings from worn POM wheels. They are pretty easy to pull out of the sleeve and otherwise go to waste, this a is a good way to recycle them.

The dimensions for the bearings used are

4.8mm ID
16mm OD
5mm Width

They were removed from Stock Ender 3 POM wheels that had started to develop flat spots.

I printed them standing using very minimal tree supports, but a flat-print version is included as well. Depending on your print tolerances you might be able to get away with a press-fit assembly, but the design also includes registration pins to which you can apply PLA Gloop or other plastic adhesive.

You can also add adhesive anti-skid feet or rubberized weather stripping to the underside to keep a light spool from being dragged forwards.
