UPDATE 22APR18: Due to friction problems, I've abandoned the "bottom skid" spool holder and replaced it with a rod and support brackets which can be attached with M3 screws or superglue to the sides of the container. I've also relocated the push-fit connectors to the lid (top) for smoother feeding and easier loading.
I needed 2 dry filament storage boxes that would also feed my Mosaic Palette+ which splices 4 different filament colors/types into 1 continuous 1.75mm piece. This allows any 3D printer the ability to create amazing, colorful designs -- as long as the extruder accepts 1.75mm filament.
As a Maker, I couldn't bring myself to spend $70 each on 2 of the well-designed Polymaker PolyBox containers (I do own their Polysher and consume many rolls of Polysmooth filament).
This design will cost less than $20 on Amazon and the .STL files are easy to print on any 3D printer.
