I teach kids how to play acoustic instruments and traditional Appalachian music in a program called Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM). To help kids know finger positions on the fretboard, I decided to design simple practice fretboards for Ukelele, Mandolin, Banjo and Guitar. They are deigned to fit in your pocket and have a somewhat realistic feel. I crated two versions. One version is the basic fretboard, the other has peg holes to place pegs in to help teach kids where to put their fingers. The strings are numbered and labeled based on their tuning. Each Fretboard is based on the Nut width of the instruments we use, therefore the guitar is based on a student size guitar. (note: the mandolin fretboard model is labeled with the correct string tuning, the photo shows a mistake but the model is correct)
