This model can be used to get an impression of the physical term “pressure”. Pressure is defined as force per area and with this model the force applied by a weight can be distributed via 1×1, 5×5, 10×10 or 20×20 pins. Put the model on your hand and feel how different distributed force feels.Possible ExperimentsPlace different plates with pins down on your hand and place a weight on the top to feel how the same weight distributet across a different number of pins. The more pins, the lower the force for each pin and thus the lower the pressure. In other words the heigher the number of pins the more pins there are per area an thus the lower the pressure.Place one of the plates pins down on your hand and put different weights on it to feel different forces. The higher the weight, the higher the force and thus the higher the pressure.Print settings- 0.2mm layer height- 3 walls- 100% infillSource and parametersThe original files can be accessed and changed at onshape: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/a8e0804a28d9ec9d1debe80f/w/9ffda8f8b6bb1c0d0f88a610/e/6b6f546c836c171bc1093366The model there uses configuration settings for different numbers of pins and the following variables.#LayerHeight#PressureAreaSize = size of the quadratic area containing the pins#PinRadiusBottom = bottom radius of a pin#PinRadiusTop = top radius of a pin#PinHeight = height of a pin#FrameWidth = extra spacing around pin area#PinsPerLine = number of pins per line#LabelHeight = height of the text label (in y direction)#LabelTextFrame = frame around text on label part
