Depending on the weather and humidity I have found that parts sometimes adhere to my plastic (Lexan) print bed and sometimes they will come loose in the middle of printing. I sand my print bed to allow maximum adhesion (printing PLA) but I still find times when the part comes off the bed while printing.
I created this simple part which I can add to anything I wish to print via my slicer software. I simply place the 'Print Pad' under the part I want to print. After the print pad is printed and when I confirm I am printing the actual part, I then put painters tape on the 'Print Pad' to hold it in place until the part is finished printing. It is thin enough that it will simply break off the part I print and with minimal sanding (Most times I don't even need to sand or trim) one really can't see that it was ever there.
