It's an experiment for the physics class, especially mechanics. The purpose was each kid can print his own experiment. Sure, it can also be used as a teacher experiment.
With this teaching aid, you can demonstrate several physic facts. For example, there is the horizontal, vertical and mixed motion, shown by the steel ball. With the free app "Motionshot" available on Appstore (1) and Playstore (2), the kids can create a parable with a stroboscope image, drawn by the steel ball.
Also, there is an appliance to demonstrate the momentum conservation with a second steel ball. A second appliance allows you to mount different sensors like a photoelectric sensor or a sensor to measure the speed of the steel ball, immediately after the ball left the cannon.
