A propeller is a mechanical device used to create thrust by converting rotational energy into forward or backward motion, typically in air or water. It consists of blades (or airfoils) arranged around a central hub. The blades are angled in such a way that, when the propeller spins, it moves air or water backward, generating a force that propels the vehicle (e.g., an aircraft, boat, or submarine) in the opposite direction. Types of Propellers Airplane Propellers: Designed for aviation, they pull or push the aircraft through the air. Marine Propellers: Found on boats and ships, they move the vessel by displacing water. Wind Turbine Propellers: Used to capture wind energy, often referred to as turbine blades rather than traditional propellers.
