While searching for a cleaning tool for the Z-axis lead screw of my P1S, I noticed that there was no model available with the correct geometry of the Z-axis lead screw. Many models use the wrong pitch or an incorrect thread, which I wasn’t satisfied with. So I modeled my own cleaner and I’m happy to share it. It features the exact negative contour of the TR8x8 4-start Z-axis lead screw used in all Bambulab series machines.A 0.4 mm gap was added at the contact surfaces, allowing you to insert a piece of paper towel and achieve a complete cleaning of the thread. The entire model can be printed print-in-place. Small 0.2 mm bridging pillars were added in the CAD model in the air gap between the two scissor elements. These can simply be snapped off after printing or cut with a utility knife. I recommend printing with a layer height of 0.12 mm or 0.16 mm, as this ensures the fine details of the threads and guarantees proper fit. A layer height of 0.2 mm is not recommended.
