These are backing disks for protocol droid eyes. Print them with the flat sides down so that you don't need any supports etc.
These are sized for 38mm eyes, but you may need to resize the 3D models depending on the size or type of eye you have. On my helmet the LED assemblies do not contact my eyes but you may need to reduce the depth depending on the LEDs you are using (I am using super bright 5mm 3.6V 20MA LEDs, wired in parallel with 1/4W 47ohm resistors on the positive leads. They are powered by 3AA batteries / 4.5V)
The main disc with the 3 large holes and large center hole (protocol_eye_led_holder.stl)
- has holes 3 evenly spaced 5mm LEDs
- the LEDs face outwards
- the large center hole holes your brass rod for the "pupil" of the eyes
- once you insert the LED's from behind (flat back side), you bend the LED leads at 90 degrees so they they lie flat. once you solder your LED's and resistors, shrink tubing etc. you can insert the rear cap.
