Prusament spools have a channel to store the end of your filament. This is convenient and works well.
There is a problem with this design, however. The filament can get caught in the storage channel during a print, which stops the spool from turning. This can prevent print head movement, causing layer shifts.
This part clips on to the standard Prusa spool holder and provides a guide for the filament so that it cannot get caught in the side of the spool during a print.
