Just started on my first Prusa i3 build and while there are plenty of options for the Y corners, i designed these with screw down caps for the smooth rods.
I like to design things that use the ability of 3D printers hence the recess on the top of the caps.
Based on the standard 1 X M10 rod ( long front to back) & 2 X M8 cross rods & 8mm OD smooth rods
Each cap needs 2 X M3 x 10mm cap screws ( 15 mm long will work as well).
No trapped nuts needed, just tap the holes M3. As this isnt a high load/stress point so alternatively self tapping screws could be used.
Corner cap for SC8VUU bearings ( bearing and housing
Corner cap LP version ( low profile) for standard LM8UU linear bearings
