I recommend using version 2 of the pulley ring (pulley protection splint): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3722346
I am not a doctor nor do I have any medical training. But I hope this can help people.
A friend of mine had a severe A2 pulley injury and was worried about her recovery. She has to wash her hands frequently at her job so H-taping would only have been of limited use. She did some research and found a paper on this ring to support the pulley during recovery. She asked if I could 3D print her some.
We didn't have a model, so this is one of the first things I tried to design. We went through several iterations before coming up with this.
The ring fits sideways over the injured finger. The idea is the ring supports the tendon while the pulley recovers. It should be tight, but not uncomfortable. The ring is placed on the finger sideways as well, not over the knuckle like a traditional ring.
I printed her several rings out of PLA and a couple out of PETG. T
