For one of my college classes, we needed to print out a set of blueprints and then transport them around. Immediately after printing it, I was like ‘This is gonna get destroyed instantly.’ Thus, I went to Home Depot and picked up some 3" PVC pipe. They wanted like $10 a piece for the endcaps though, and I'm not gonna pay that when I have a 3D printer at home. So, I got on SolidWorks and made this. Initially, I made them circular, but the issue arose that whenever I set it down on a table, it would roll off. Then I changed them to be hexagons, and added little notches inside so that the flat edges would always be aligned. There should be a model that is just the section with the notches, so that you can see where they should be located and what size. I just used a boxcutter to do mine. In order for the edges to line up, I cut the notches on one end, put one of the caps there, and then put the guide on the other end, and then used that to know where to put the notches on that end
