Hello! I would like to present my quick coupling model for the connection/disconnection of cryogenic fluids used in space missions. Based on the realization of a Divergent Convergent Conceptual Postprocessing (PCDC) based on taking as ideas the inputs of one of the latest challenges proposed by NASA (for more information read the attached report) "Low Leakage Cryogenic Disconnects for Fuel Transfer and Long-Term Storage" (https://grabcad.com/challenges/low-leakage-cryogenic-disconnects-for-fuel-transfer-and-long-term-storage/entries). This work was carried out for the Chair of Synthesis of Mechanisms and Machines M25 (SMM) in charge of Professor Marcelo Valderrey of the School of Mechanical Engineering, belonging to the Faculty of Exact Sciences, Engineering and Surveying of the National University of Rosario (EIM - FCEIA - UNR). The proposals that contributed to my solution are: "https://grabcad.com/library/venturi-effect-1" by https://grabcad.com/marcelo.valderrey-1, "https://grabcad.com/library/low-leakage-cryogenic-disconnects-1" by https://grabcad.com/matthias.etzkorn-2 and "https://grabcad.com/library/stellarflow-1" by https://grabcad.com/mauricio.wohlmuth-1. My proposal consists of a coupling using 3 centering plates, actuated by torsion springs to ensure proper alignment during connection and has a clamping system. The aim is to minimize leaks by applying localized pressure losses, venturi effect and use of seals. Guided by the proposals I considered. As an improvement to my model, I consider the prior connection important to avoid fluid leakage during connection/disconnection and also the guidance by wheels allows for good centering throughout the entire travel.
