I've got an old tripod that I have to screw stuff to all the time. I never thought much about it, but then I got a fancier tripod that has a quick release adaptor. It's now a must-have, so I measured out the adaptor size and made a little boot for it to do all the things.
Tonight, I found eeejay's tripod quick release which is a) in openscad and b) roughly the same type I needed, so I went for it. I made a couple modifications to the original:
1. Fits my quick release things (also an adaptor is attached)
2. Uses M5 hardware.
3. Is threaded to mount directly onto a tripod.
If you want to make adjustments, you can use the included .scad file. I'm using [this thread library](http://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/) for the tripod thread.
(Note that the silver stuff in the pictures are all pretty rough prints just to size it, though they're actually good enough to use. I'm still going to print some higher quality ones and update the pictures later)
