This demonstration model displays a functional 4-stroke radial engine, which is distinct from a straight-cylinder engine as the cylinders are linked to the crankshaft using a single hub with a master-and-articulating rods assembly. This engine configuration was popular in WWII aircraft due to its reliability and efficiency. Moreover, to ensure a smooth firing order, most 4-stroke radial engines consist of an odd number of cylinders.
