Inspired by the [Pibow enclosure](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:33443) I decided I wanted to make a case out of layered acrylic. However unlike the Pibow case I wanted to leave the middle around the chips and GPIO pins open. This was partially for airflow and partially because I didn't want to push down on top of the board. This just wraps around the outside of the Pi.
My design does leave one side of the case mostly open. That's intentional to leave extra room for power and HDMI. I tried a few other cases and the sleeve of both the USB cable and the HDMI cable would run into the side of the case before they'd plug in fully. Not so anymore!
The Pi fastens to four points on the second layer of the case. The bolts attaching it are counter sunk through holes in the first layer. You'll need four small 3mm bolts to attach the Pi to the case and another four 3mm bolts to go through the corners.
Yes, the Pi logo is a bit ostentatious but I needed venting holes and figure
