As Christopher Barnatt showed in his video series (look at the bottom of the page), the Raspberry Pi 3 needs at least a tini heatsink in combination with an active cooler to run on maximum Power without any heatissues.
Therefor I made these brackets to hold an 40x40x10mm Fan.
The Design is inspired by toolson's Fanholders for the Ramps1.4 (CC BY NC)
If you use an 5V Fan, like the Sunon MB40100V2-000U-A99 it is even possible to use the Pins 2 and 6 of the Pi to power the Fan. As you can see in Barnatts Video.

I ran his bash skript on my Raspberry Pi3 B v1.2 once without the Fan, just with a tiny aluminium heatsink.
And once with the 40mm Fan, in this case a MB40101V2-000U-A99 with is the same fan as I recommand exept its 12V.
Just to verify the results and set it with exactly the same ambienttemperature of 20°C.
The Difference is enourmous with over 30°C after 5 times doing the benchmark and staying on one level at 47.2°C.
