I pulled out my old traps the other day and noticed that I was missing the bait clips. No problem, I had my 3D print model ready to go. I decided to print in PETG this time and found that I could not get a clean print. When I finally did get one printed the retainer snapped off. I was using a 0.6 nozzle which might have been part of the problem but I also think that the filament I was using was not as flexible as the PLA I had originally printed the parts with. I decided I would try to redesign the part to make it a little easier to print.
The new design is a little stronger and prints more cleanly using supports on the two outside ledges/retainers. The bottom is now flat and has a slot that can be used by inserting a coin or washer if it is too tight. I also thickened the piece to make it a little more resistant to breaking.
I found that I could remove the supports easily and the part fit without any extra cleaning up.
