RCA Mounting Box

Expandable/stackable box to hold RCA plates to make a custom switch box.

To enable me to connect all my retro game consoles (at least the eleven with composite outputs) to my two TV's (one LCD and one CRT), I made this custom box. It has a top and bottom piece as well as a middle that can be printed as many times as needed to make as big a stack as required. I needed 13 mount points, so I printed enough boxes to mount 15 plates. I made a blanking plate to block off the two unused locations. The wiring goes off to a custom switch box I made (not 3D printed).

I have included the FreeCAD files I used to make it. I drafted a 2 position box, and a 3 position one I went on to use in my application. If I were to print more, I'd include locating tabs to make the process of gluing the boxes together easier.
