The Problem:
I had spools that were too small to work properly in the AMS of the Bambu Labs X1 Carbon. I had other spools that had rough spots on the rim of the spools and was not wanting to feed smoothly.
The Solution:
I built a Re-Spooler. It can be cranked by hand or with a variable speed drill. Operate it at a moderate speed and guide the filament from side to side to make it lay as smoothly as possible.
Build Process:
I built the base and sides out of wood so it would be heavy enough to be stable. If you anticipate using this for 5 KG spools you might want to adjust the width of the base and also the length of the threaded rod.
All the plastic parts are PLA printed with default settings..
I used 12 inch 1/4 20 threaded rods as the hubs.
I used the rectangle nut from a piece of hardware used to put two pieces of countertop together (I don't know what it is called) I used this because it is real easy to spin on and off. I only used the threaded rectangle.
