**Removable Tailplane for Eclipson Model B XL**
I designed this detachable tailplane after an accident. The original tail sits very close to the ground and tends to get ripped off by grass on the runway, plus it’s highly exposed to rough landings and human errors. This is where a sacrificial tailplane comes in handy.
**Requirements:**
* 2 carbon tubes, 5 mm diameter
**Installation:**
1. Drill two holes in the fuselage for the tubes.
2. Apply glue only inside the HTPR and HTPL holes — **make sure no glue touches the fuselage itself**. Assemble the parts and hold them against the fuselage until the glue sets.
3. In case of a crash, simply disassemble the remaining parts and slide the tubes out of the fuselage.
**Real Print, Fly, Crash, Repeat — but reusable.** Without this system, you’d have to remove the last piece of fuselage and rebuild the entire tailplane… annoying, right?!
