Replacement peg for IKEA Octopus. The original peg fails over time because the moving parts are joined by a thin flexible flange.
This design has a hinge, and so will perform better than the original, and yes, I have replaced the broken pegs on my IKEA Octopus and they work perfectly. Mine are printed in PLA, but any non-flexible filament should work.
The holes in the two hinge parts are designed for a piece of 1.75 filament or a piece of wire. To hold them secure, either bend both ends of the wire, or melt/glue one end of the filament. The holes in the top end connect to the existing spring on the Octopus.
These sizes worked for me, but you may need to smooth out the prints depending upon your print quality and/or filament.
Edit: After a few years faithful service one side of one peg failed, so I've added an extrusion to the sides to strengthen that join. That's the 'MkII' versions. Yes, it doesn't look as nice, print whichever version suits your world view..
