This is an in-slicer modification of a design found here. Modified to shoot larger payloads, as needed for our award-winning Gencon costume contest entry seen here: (Skip to 1:26:00 or so.) Like the original ping-pong ball shooter, this uses the spring from a toilet paper roll holder. Unlike the original author, I don't think the brand is particularly important. I imagine this model would fit multiple springs, although I only used one. Since the holes are wider, a craft stick would serve better than a pin. Assembly is somewhat different from the original, which I found to be a bit fiddly. I used copious amounts JB-Weld (although other adhesives may work well too) to glue the spring to the center of the larger black oval, seal the back with the large oval to the back of the model with adhesive, then attach small oval to other spring end. Other orders of assembly would also work well.
