USB-C cables can stick out the side of your laptop and prevent the laptop from fitting into a nice narrow space (in my case my desk tidy, where the laptop slides under the screen).
So I bought a cheap right angle USB-C adapter. Great, but sometimes when I pull the laptop out to do something, the connector pulls out of the USB-C cable. I dock my laptop under an external monitor, so the lid is closed when in use. If the cable pulls out, it takes a while for Windows to resize screens and turn off the external monitor, which is a hassle.
This part is design to hold them together when you push and pull the laptop on the desk, and has a very thin plate which I can close the laptop on to, in order to give adequate strain relief to the cable.
